Collaborators and Programs

PARENT INFORMATION CENTER (PIC): Since 1991 PIC has provided information, referral, emotional support, and training to families with children who have disabilities. Using the same format of services as PEN uses, PIC can
  1. Walk you through steps if you don’t know where to go or what questions to ask your child's teacher if your child  is referred for special services.
  2. Support your family at Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings.
  3. Provide information and support on disability issues.

PARENTS AS TEACHERS (PAT): PAT is a voluntary family education support program that begins prenatal and extends through age 5.  The program is based on the beliefs that parents are their children's first and most influential teachers.  PAT recognizes your family's strengths and that you are the expert on your child.  Developmental activities are offered that  encourage language development, intellectual growth, social development and motor skills. For more information, call the PEN main office, email PATinfo@wpen.net, or visit the Parents as Teachers National Website.

LOCAL PARENT TEACHER GROUPS, ASSOCIATIONS, AND ORGANIZATIONS: PEN contracts individually with local parent teacher groups, associations, and organizations in Wyoming to provide parent involvement activities in their communities. The PEN Project Coordinator and Outreach Parent Liaisons help the local groups facilitate these activities to meet the projects’ outcomes of parent-driven, academically sound activities. For more information, call the PEN main office or the Outreach Parent Liaison in your area. The following documents provide further information for Wyoming Parent Groups:
