Parents as Teachers Parent Educators

Dara Johnston

Dara has recently moved to the Buffalo area.  She has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Notre Dame, and is currently working on her Masters in Educational Psychology from the same institution.  She has traveled and lived internationally for years and is excited to be working with the many diverse peoples of Sheridan and Johnson County.  Dara also has a wealth of experiences working with various foundations and non profit agencies both in and out of a school setting.

Erin Swilling

Erin is a native of California, but has lived in Wyoming for the last 14 years with her husband and three children.  She has been working with parents and children for the last 9 years as a preschool teacher, Head Start and Even Start director, and a home visitor.  Erin has been certified as a Parents as Teachers parent educator for 5 years. Erin has a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Wyoming.

Loretta Erickson

Loretta Erickson received her certification as a parent educator from the Parents as Teachers Born to Learn Institute™ in 2006.  She and her husband and daughter moved to Wyoming from Homer, Alaska last year also.  She has been working with parents and children for more than 12 years as a teacher, a school counselor, and a Boys and Girls Club Director.  Loretta has a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities from University of Colorado at Boulder, a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver, and a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado.

 

Julia Despain

Julia recently completed her Bachelors Degree from the University of Wyoming, in Family and Consumer Sciences: Professional Child Development. With that comes experience in working with the child and family as a whole. Julia has two children, both boys ages 1 and 3. She has lived in Wyoming for twenty years, five of which have been in Laramie.

 

Ethelyn Sharpe

Ethelyn Sharpe is one of two Parents as Teachers, Parent Educators, in the Cheyenne area.  She and her husband have two adult children.  Ethelyn graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Education Degree from Oklahoma Christian University, and has taught first grade and preschool for fifteen years.  She is excited to be working with parents and young children to enhance their early learning experiences.

 

Blanca Moye

Blanca Moye has recently received her Born to Learn certification as a parent educator for the Jackson area.  She has been living in the Jackson area for the last nine years with her husband and two children and is originally from Mexico City.   Blanca received her degree in Business Administration while in Mexico and she has been working with families for more than 13 years  in adult education.  Upon arriving to Jackson she has been working with the Latino Community and the many non-profits around Jackson.  She is excited to be offering her services within the Jackson community.
